1927 WGN Radio Station engineers keep up-to-date with technical developments in the television field.
1931 Receiving equipment is available in Tribune Tower.
1944 WGN orders transmitting equipment and gear.
1945 Colonel McCormick assures his radio audience: "We are undertaking our adventure into television at the earliest possible moment. We are setting out as soon as we can. We are going as far as we can. Our partners in the enterprise are the American people. They, and not we, have determined our standards for us. Those standards are the world's best."
