Memorable Season 1 Moments

This season we really got to know Rory, Lorelai and the cast of characters from Stars Hollow who we still love today.

Rory's First Kiss
Dean, the "new guy" in town, surprises Rory and plants one on her in Doose's Market (who knew that was such a hook-up spot?) in Kiss And Tell. Lorelai doesn't hear about it from Rory and that makes her upset.

Are you dating?
Richard collapses from a heart attack and Luke rushes Lorelai to the hospital to be with her family in Kiss And Tell. Emily, seeing Lorelai with a man, wonders if the two are dating. She's the first person to point out (out loud) the obvious chemistry between Lorelai and Luke. Lorelai sets her straight: they aren't dating, they are just friends.

Rory's Dad
Christopher makes his first visit to Stars Hollow in Christopher Returns. While his financial and job status is questionable, his attraction to Lorelai is not. They sneak away and have a secret tryst like old times at Richard and Emily's house. He even asks Lorelai to marry him, but she declines.

Quite A Proposal
Max blurts out a marriage proposal to Lorelai in the middle of a fight. She lets him know that a real proposal would be a bit more romantic and would include "a thousand yellow daisies." He delivers, well actually Kirk (not called Kirk at the time delivers) 1,000 yellow daisies, in Love, Daisies and Troubadours
