All is perfect in Paris
Although they are completely jetlagged, Lorelai and Christopher have a wonderful time in Paris - that is once they find a place to eat. Sherry (we hear, we don't see) was pleasant, Gigi was behaving, they are staying in a beautiful room with a view of the Eiffel Tower and the lovin' is good. If only they could get a cheeseburger at 4 a.m. in the morning.

Newly-rich Chris bribes a cute, romantic restaurant to open especially for them. While there, Lorelai and Chris are under the spell of Paris. Lorelai is so happy she doesn't want it to end, for that, Chris has the perfect answer: let's get married. He says they are finally ready, but Lorelai thinks it's too soon.

When they return to Stars Hollow Chris tells his new bride, "Welcome home Mrs. Hayden." Lorelai sneaks a peek at her first-ever wedding band.

It's in the by-laws
It's time for Rory to step down as editor of the Yale Daily News. In the by-laws a new editor is declared each year. Sadly, for Rory she got cheated because during her term, she took over mid-year. Paris, of course, is on hand with many suggestions - most of them of the prescription variety - for Rory to deal with passing on the editorship. One suggestion Rory does take. She makes plans with her new "Girls Gone Wild" (Paris' description) friends Olivia and Lucy.

Those two crazy artists decide that they'd like to spend the weekend in the country so Rory offers up her house in Stars Hollow. While streaking their hair full of color - Rory's is a pinky-red - Rory has a breakdown.

She doesn't know what she's going to do with her life. Stepping down as editor really brought reality to the forefront for her. She's graduating this year and she doesn't have a plan of what to do next. Lucy and Olivia console Rory and convince her that law school is probably not a good option for her.

After the "road trip" to Stars Hollow, Rory is suprised to learn that Lucy's boyfriend, who thus far has been only called "boyfriend," is none other than her old pal, Marty. Oddly, strangely, Marty puts his hand out to shake Rory's hand as if he'd never met her. When Lucy and Olivia leave the room Rory asks Marty what's up. He says he thought it might be weird. Rory doesn't get it. They used to hang out all the time together? Apparently, Marty didn't want to explain to his girlfriend that he knows Rory because he used to (still does?) have a thing for her. Oh, and that she found him naked outside her dorm room the first time they met.

There are surgeries now
Lane and Zach get more wonderful news, Lane isn't having a baby - she's having twins! Lane is extremely unnerved by the news - she had just gotten used to the idea of one. Zach takes her reaction to mean that something's wrong. Looking at the ultrasound he assures Lane that once there are out there are surgeries to fix it. Fix what? Zach thought they were conjoined twins. When he hears Lane explain that they won't be attached to each other he eases her fears too.

Twins also means that Lane is really going to start showing even more - and soon. It's time to tell Mrs. Kim. She takes the news wonderfully, "A new child is a great blessing." Cool. Then she says Monday they move in with her. Not cool. Unfortunately, Zach actually says "cool" to the second part and Mrs. Kim thinks they are moving in.

Lane and Zach get up the courage to tell Mrs. Kim that they are adults starting a new family and they won't be moving in with her. Fine, she has another idea, she'll move in with them. Mrs. Kim was already making herself at home when Lane wondered, "Where's Brian." Mrs. Kim assures her that he's fine - flash to a scene with Brian sitting at a table with a Korean family eating a huge feast. He does seem pretty happy, not so sure Lane and Zach feel the same...
