Original air date November 30

Luke's Dark Day It seems that everybody in town, but Lorelai, knows that on Nov. 30 each year Luke has a "dark day." He leaves town, doesn't go to work, doesn't talk to anybody and keeps to himself. Nobody knows why, but they do know that because of it, Luke won't be making it to Miss Patty's 40th Anniversary for being in showbiz party. Lorelai learns from Luke, that his 'dark day' is the anniversary of father's death.

Hostess With The Mostess Headmaster Charleston from Chilton asks Rory to host a future Yale student, Anna Fairchild, for an overnight visit. Rory is excited to help out and has many things she wants to show Anna. Of course all of them are academic-bordering-on-nerdy activities for example, visiting the Gutenberg Bible or touching the toe of a statue. Lorelai tries to steer Rory into a more "fun" zone, but Rory believes Anna will be excited about the same things as her. She even buys a bunch of stuff with Yale logos to welcome Anna.

On A Boy Break Richard asks Rory about how she's fairing with Logan. Again, Lorelai's in the dark. She doesn't know about Logan, but realizes he was connected with the limo that dropped off a tipsy Rory a few weeks ago. Rory assures Lorelai that there's nothing going on with Logan and that for now she's happy to be on a 'boy break.'

No Rules, Lots of Boys Anna loves Yale, but for all different reasons than Rory: no uniforms, no set bedtimes, ice cream and cereal for dinner, watching TV at night and most of all, the "boys." Rory's tour of the campus doesn't really excite Anna until they get to the pub and a group of guys ask Anna to a party that night. Rory tries to squelch that idea and warns that those boys may not be as friendly as they appear. She tells Anna that she should meet guys who are just pals, like Marty for instance. Rory beats it into the ground that she and Marty are just friends. Marty looks a bit hurt by this.

Is That You Terence? Paris' life coach Terence has returned after completing his court-ordered rehab. His main focus for now is for Paris to put herself out into the dating world again. He wants her to move past Asher's death. Paris tries to give it a good college try and attends a speed dating event. She's a bit harsh with her first two speed dates, but at her third table she is surprised to find Doyle, the editor of the newspaper. They jump right into conversation and then into Paris' dorm room. Rory happens upon them back at the dorm and finds Doyle wearing Paris' robe.

End Scene... Now Anna is just slipping into a comfortable nap while visiting Rory's class when Colin and Logan rush into her classroom pretending to fight over Rory. Then, Finn rushes in dressed like a Keystone Kop and drags the two of them out of the room. The class applauds, but Rory is so embarrassed and mad at Logan for pulling such a stunt.

The Boat And Mrs. Thompson Lorelai stumbles upon Luke arguing with an elderly lady. She finds out that Luke's been paying Mrs. Thompson to store his dad's unfinished boat in for the past 15 years. Now, Mrs. Thompson has to move to a nursing home and she's rented her place, garage and all, to somebody else. Luke's furious. In anger he tells Mrs. Thompson to haul away his boat, dump it somewhere and bill him.

Thinking Luke's being a bit hasty about the boat, Lorelai makes plans to hide the boat in her garage. She has to take all of Mrs. Thompson's stuff however, to make the deal work. Luke, literally stumbles over Mrs. Thompson's stuff and then upon the boat. He flips out at Lorelai and says that she should have respected his wishes instead of her own.

Later, Lorelai heads over to Miss Patty's party. She spots Luke lurking outside and he apologizes to her.

Fro-Yo Social Rory sends Anna off alone to a frozen yogurt social, but Anna decides to take a detour and Rory doesn't know where to find her. She calls upon her good friend Marty to help her find Anna. They aren't successful, but Headmaster Charleston calls to let Rory know she shouldn't worry - Anna's in the capable hands of the police.

Meanwhile, Rory talks to Marty about Logan's spectacle in class. She can't understand why anybody would do that to her. Marty explains that Logan likes her and that's why he's showing her so much attention. Rory doesn't believe him. Then she offers to give her good-friend-only Marty a cab ride back to campus, but he decides to just walk instead.

Scene Stealer Richard approaches Logan and his buddies on their coffee break at Yale and says he's heard of Logan's profession of love from his good friend, the professor. He also tells him that he talked to Logan's dad and they have everything all figured out: the pre-nup, engagement, etc. for Rory and him. Richard abruptly walks away leaving Logan and his friends stunned.

Just when you wonder: did that just happen? Richard meets up with his accomplice, Rory, around the corner. She seems very happy to have Logan put in his place.
