Not Luke's Day
First of all, Luke takes his truck full of stuff which he packed last episode when he wanted to elope with Lorelai and heads out of town with his trusty map. Where's he going? To Christopher's apartment to punch him in the face! Roll opening credits...

Kirk: For all you know, I could have brain damage.
Luke: Oh, I'm pretty sure you do.

Clearly Luke is in one of his moods, but there's not much to cheer him up: TJ's here to help him replace the window of the diner, but he keeps telling Luke how Liz's pregnancy is making her more.... amorous, Kirk opens up his own diner, a complete rip-off of Luke's right down to the sign, called Kirk's. He's even wearing a flannel shirt, a backwards cap and has a "no cell phones" sign. To top it off, Luke runs into Lorelai in town and they have a shouting match. Great day.

I'll bring Asia to you
Rory's trying to get over the fact that she's not with Logan, nor is she in Asia as planned. To help her get over her disappointments, Lorelai creates an Asia-inspired house for Rory. It's all about themed movies (well, some of them are a stretch: Breakfast at Tiffany's?), kimonos, Hello Kitty and dessert sushi until Rory overhears a message on the answering machine. It' from Christopher. He says he wants to talk to Lorelai about the "one night thing." Rory's horrified that Lorelai slept with Christopher - and on the same night she broke up with Luke! She rips into Lorelai and then takes off.

You told him?!
Sookie can't believe Lorelai told Luke about Christopher. Lorelai says she had to tell Luke because he wasn't going to take "no" for an answer to his proposal unless she did. She said it was one of the most horrible moments of her life telling him, but she didn't' want to agree to an elopement when two days earlier she had slept with another man. Why do you think she told Luke?

Honeymoon is over
The honeymooners are back! Unfortunately, Lane and Zach's trip to Mexico was a total bust. Zach thought he found a great deal, but they ended up staying in some guy named Pedro's apartment, far from the beach. While there, Zach and Lane both got sick from parasites.

Lane also tell Rory that now she knows that sex is bad. When she explains what happened: she and Zach tried to recreate the scene from the movie "From Here to Eternity." The sand, water, actual crabs creeping around them, not to mention onlookers, really ruined the mood of her first time. After that , she swore off sex for the rest of the honeymoon. As it turns out, Lane's not suffering from the parasites like Zach, however. She's pregnant! Lane does not feel ready for this next phase in her life, but Rory comforts her and says that nobody's perfect - not even mothers. Rory makes the connection that she should to take her own advice and be a little easier on Lorelai.

The world according to Liz and TJ
Luke heads over to Liz and TJ's for a homecooked meal where Liz offers up a different perspective to Luke about his relationship with Lorelai. She says they were never in sync: They never really moved in together, his daughter showed up... Amid hers and TJ's theories about space time continuum and the string theory she makes the point that they didn't get together at the right time. Luke, however, says they never really belonged together.

Truce?
Luke and Lorelai run into each other at a grocery store, but he's much nicer than the last time he saw her in town. He says he's not mad anymore - they just didn't belong together. He'll go back to being the guy in the diner who pours her coffee. Lorelai heads home and has a good cry. This time, Rory comes home to comfort her mom. Is this the end for them - for good?

  Whoopee Poll

Can Luke just go back to being that guy in the diner who serves Lorelai coffee?
No, he obviously still has feelings for her.
Yes, he was able to do it for 8 years or so.

Should Lorelai have told Luke about her one-nighter with Christopher?
No, it wasn't about her being honest - she wanted to hurt him.
Yes, it would be terrible for other people to know about it but not him.

What are your thoughts on Lane's pregnancy?
Hooray! It's going to be such a smart and talented child.
First time=baby... There goes the honeymoon.
