Nothing Left To Say But Good-Bye
Does Nathan throw the big game? Will Peyton finally tell Luke how she feels?

What we're thinking:
Nathan keeps digging himself deeper and deeper. We're torn between being sad for him and wanting to slap him around a bit to snap him out of his stupidity. It was looking good once Dan got involved--let's face it, the man knows how to get things done. But Dante handed the mayor his butt on a platter. We've seen a much kinder and gentler Dan this season, and we think that's all about to end. Right now. Dante better watch his back.

On the other hand, we're really proud of Peyton for getting back into life and facing her fears. Sure, Derek has been a big part of it (and we'll miss his fine presence, that's for sure!), but she dug deep and she's grown a lot in the last couple of weeks. We think things are going to start looking up for that girl! And is anyone a just a little disgusted with Brooke for playing with Lucas' heart and asking him to take her to the basketball banquet just because she was peeved at Peyton? She may have realized that she missed him for real by the end of the night--but the date originated with ugliness. We think she might have been hanging out with Rachel too much lately!

What's the drama:
Dante bribes Nathan and he's ready to expose any semi-ugliness in the boy's recent past. If he doesn't throw the championship game, Dante will blab to Duke that he "threw" the last game. He can say goodbye to basketball forever - and probably his knees too.

Just as Nathan gets the ugly news from Dante, he gets the news that he's been chosen as the MVP of the Ravens and will be honored at the annual basketball banquet. Out of the blue it seems that the Tree Hill PD has scored one for the good guys. They caught Stalker Derek--it's over for Peyton. So she can go home again and Lucas can have his bed back. And Rachel is failing calculus. If she fails she won't graduate with her friends.

What's up with Lucas:
Lucas asks Nathan to promise that the whole Dante thing is over before he presents him with the MVP award at the basketball banquet. Nathan simply can't do it.

What's up with Peyton:
Derek promises to paint Peyton's room if she'll promise to take a chance and tell Lucas how she really feels. She agrees but the timing is bad: Lucas and Brooke are suddenly talking again, and he's excited about it! Luckily, Peyton's handsome Marine brother Derek agrees to escort her. But he's got bad news too. He is deploying in 24 hours. Guess people do always leave.

What's up with Brooke:
Brooke says that she misses Lucas and asks him to take her to the basketball banquet. So when Peyton asks him to go, he's already got a "date."

What's up with Haley:
Rachel needs someone to help her with calculus, and even though "Tutor Girl" Haley despises her, the mom-to-be is suddenly seeing the softer side of the Rachel - so she agrees to help the mathematically-challenged hussy.

What's up with Whitey:
At the banquet Whitey is given a lifetime achievement award. In his speech he talks about his first love, the players and his second love, Camilla. And he thanks fate for allowing him to at least spend his life with his first love. The speech touches Nathan enough to go to his father for help.

What's up with Nathan:
Nathan isn't ready to throw the championship game. When he comes to Dan for help, Daddy Dan realizes the gravity of the situation. Dan offers Dante money to go away. But Dante not only refuses, he threatens everyone in Dan's life and tells him he can't be bought. And if he doesn't leave him alone, the ground next to his brother is going to get real crowded.

How does it all wrap up?
Peyton has to go through another goodbye. But this time Derek assures her that he'll be back. And she tells him that she believes him. At the end of the evening Lucas drops Brooke off at home they both decide that that their date was a mistake. But they agree to remain friends. And across town, Nathan comes to his dad - hopeful. But when he asks Dan what they're going to do, his dad tells him that he's going to have to lose the state championship. And finally, Peyton tells Lucas that she's in love with him.
