Prom Night at Hater High

Tree Hill preps for prom with some shocking results!

What's the drama: The aftermath of the video freaks out the entire senior class of Tree Hill High -- well, most of them. We flash back to two years earlier. It's another party at the Scott residence. Nathan is with Peyton, but he's not into it and he's not faithful. She tells him it's over and splits. He runs into a drunk Brooke... and that's where the sex video comes in.

Flash forward to the present as the gang watches the video play out. Brooke looks to Peyton and tries to explain, but the girl cold-cocks Brooke, who ends up with a black eye for prom. Nathan has no physical markings, but he's feeling the hurt anyway. He tells Haley he never mentioned his night with Brooke because it was before they met each other and it meant nothing. But Haley is not convinced.

What's up with Haley: In order to make Haley feel better, Bevin tells her that Nathan used to hook up with everyone. So Haley asks Nathan for a list of everyone he's ever been with. Dan advises Nathan NOT to write the list, but Nathan still does and it upsets Haley even more -- she didn't want him to be able to write the list. He also gives her a list of all the people he's loved before and she's the only one on it.

What's up with Peyton: After the party, Peyton doesn't feel like going to prom -- especially with Lucas, who seems to be supporting Brooke more than he is supporting her at the moment. To get even with Brooke, she steals her prom dress. When Brooke confronts her, they cat fight on Peyton's front lawn. Peyton tells Brooke that she's dead to her.

What's up with Brooke: Her black eye is miraculously gone as she decorates for prom. Chase comes to tell her that he can't respect her after what she did with Nathan. He'll go to prom with her because he knows how much it means to her, but after that he can't be with her. She tells him to forget it. She doesn't want to go with someone who doesn't want to be with her.

What's up with Lucas: When Nathan stops by to see Lucas on the Nathan Scott Apology Tour, they discuss how Karen and Dan are going to prom together and Nathan expresses how much Dan has changed. Maybe if Karen is willing to give Dan a second chance, Lucas should, too. And speaking of chances, Haley explains to Lucas how much it sucks to find out about something like that in front of everyone -- so he needs to be extra nice to Peyton right now.

What's up with Mouth: He's not going to prom if Shelly isn't going. Skills tries to explain how it's not about the girl, it's about hanging with friends. Finally, Mouth agrees to go alone, even though he's got a seriously broken heart.

What's up with Rachel: She officially got expelled from school for taking the fall for Brooke. She's ready to leave town and spend some time with her parents (for once). When she gets ready to leave, she tells Brooke that if she wants to thank her for taking the fall for her she should make it right with Peyton. She also informs Brooke that Mouth is dateless for prom.

What's up with Karen: Lucas tells his mom that if going to prom with Dan makes her happy, then she should go. She's a little apprehensive about going, but she thinks it'll be kind of fun. And she promises her son that she'll be fine. Lucas warns her -- no slow dances!

How does it all wrap up? The last stop on Nathan's Apology Tour is Peyton's house. He explains that two years ago he didn't care about anyone but himself. But he tells her that she should go to prom because she cares about Lucas. And she should make up with Brooke for the same reason. Peyton returns Brooke's dress to her doorstep.

Meanwhile, at the Scott house, Deb tells Haley that Nathan had terrible role models when he was growing up, but everything about him that is good and decent now is a result of her influence. Haley ends up reading just the list that was written by the man she fell in love with. And she goes to prom with him. They make up and return to being the adorably happy Haley and Nathan we're used to.

Mouth and Brooke end up going to prom together, and Brooke's wearing the red dress that Peyton stole from her but then returned. When they get to prom, the word "WHORE" appears on the dress -- Peyton painted it on so it'd show up in the blacklights! To Mouth's surprise, Brooke is thrilled about this development because it means Peyton still cares enough to make such efforts.

And finally, Peyton decides she'll go to the big dance after all. So when her doorbell rings and a certain blonde awaits her on her porch, it's no surprise... until she opens the door and it's Evil Derek! We didn't see that one coming!
