If you're facing foreclosure... there are steps you can take to save your home.
WGN's Tom Negovan has the story of Brian and Charamaine McKnight of Hazel Crest who cashed in some of their home equity to fix up their home and help their children pay for college. Their mortgage broker was a man they really liked and trusted. And that's where their troubles began.
The McKnights advise homebuyers to use the three day grace period after closing to examine your mortage documents... preferably with an attorney.
The NTIC's best advice? Ask for help right away... even if you miss one payment. You can find the N.T.I.C. and other foreclosure prevention resources at these links.
