Cover Story: Holiday on a Budget
Here's a holiday story that will help you out at the cash register. From gift cards to online catalogs to good old fashioned stores; we searched them all for holiday gifts that are 25 dollars or less.

Whether it's a gift for a few or an entire family.. Keep in mind the "ize" have it.... "ize" as in personalize.

A holiday plate with the entire family on it...

...twenty dollars. It works well for the grandparents, too.

Personalized door mats...

..to notepads...

...to your own designated candy jars. Ok, that's a few dollars more but with the money saved on the other items it averages out.

We found these items on a website called Personal Creations. There are many other similar websites as well. There is a hitch.. No procrastination. You have to order soon because it takes a few weeks to have these made.

Back to the "ize".. This time think "utilize." Start with a colorful container...

Only two-fifty at the Dollar Store. Now fill it with what they need. For the handyman...

..A wrench set from Home Depot: 20 dollars.

..For the traveler... A tin-ful of tiny necessities from Bed Bath and Beyond.

.. For the coffee lover.. A travel mug and caffeine gift card.

Don't discount the discount stores. Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target. They're all filled with below-$25 values. That leads us to our final "ize". Accessorize..especially when it comes to electronics.

When it comes to teenagers.. I threw in the hat and enlisted the help of some student leadership member from Evergreen Park Community High School.

At Evergreen Plaza, two teams of four had 20 minutes to find what they'd like or they'd give for Christmas.

We may not have the answers to all your holiday gift-giving ideas but, hopefully, this gets you on your way to a bargain-filled buying spree. Jackie Bange WGN News.
