Life Without the Monsters
3 "monsters" that typically affect women
1. Perfectionism
a. This usually relates to self-worth.
b. The phrases and responses we use are often an indicator of how we feel about ourselves.
c. The world tells women the more stressed we are, the more important we are.
2. Expectations
a. We often live in a "should" world.
b. We need to understand differences in gender, personality, etc.
c. We need to ask for what we need.
3. Perception of Control
a. We often misinterpret stress and see events as being out of our control.
b. It helps to distinguish between our loads and our burdens.
c. Guilt comes from misunderstanding what is in our control.
