Do you think you know everything our 16th president? Check out some little known facts about Abraham Lincoln:
- Abraham Lincoln was the first president born outside the original thirteen colonies. He was born in Kentucky, moved to Indiana before arriving in Illinois.
- At 9 years old, Lincoln nearly died when he was kicked in the head by a horse. He lay unconscious all night- some neighbors thought he was dead-before waking in the morning.
- Lincoln carried letters, bills and notes in his stovepipe hat.
- Multiple Oscar winner, Tom Hanks, is thought to be a distant relative of Abraham Lincoln.
- Lincoln related a dream he had about being assasinated to his wife and friends three days prior to his death.
- Lincoln Robert Todd Lincoln was once on a crowded train platform and fell into the space between the platform and a train. He was pulled back onto the platform-and possibly saved from injury or death-by Edwin Booth, John Willkes Booth's brother.
