He and his wife, Cindy, were married in 1981 and live in Phoenix, Ariz. He has seven children and four grandchildren. McCain adopted his first wife Carol's sons (Doug and Andy), and he and Carol had a daughter, Sydney. He has three biological children with Cindy: Meghan, John Sidney IV (Jack) and James. He and Cindy adopted their youngest daughter, Bridget, after discovering her in an orphanage in Bangladesh.
